This guidebook features walks and climbs in the Picos de Europa, a stunning limestone range on Spain's northern Atlantic coast. As Spain's premier National Park and a UNESCO Man and the Biosphere designated area, the Picos are truly unique among Europe's mountains: geologically, for being the continent's largest single mass of mountain limestone; geographically, for being Europe's only true maritime range; and sociologically, for retaining much of the centuries-old culture that has shaped life in the towns and villages scattered throughout the area.
